SNOW CONDITIONS

ALERT!! Big cat grooming this a.m., Friday! WOW!! Should make it more than perfect. To begin with the groomers have again been at work all week. I skied yesterday afternoon and was once again beyond perfect! The campgrounds have been groomed one time since our last two snows and are OK. Hopefully after today they will be even better. Come out and enjoy, and do not forget to support our groomers..hugs, donations, and ??? your choice!

ALSO! The Forest Service is putting up NO PARKING signs along parts of the road. PLEASE honor these and be alert to the placement. EYES UP!!

SNOW!!!

Yea!! Vallecito got probably6-8″ from the Monday storm. AND best of all, and once again,the groomers were out there ALL day grooming and saving that beautiful white stuff! Get out there and enjoy! WOW! AND keep doing what you are to get more snow

Friday Grooming Report

We were out yesterday.  All that we have is groomed and ready for your weekend. There are a few slick sections on the road now and dirty sections in the woods so watch out.  We added some choices at the two north beach icy patches so you can pass the the gauntlet of death safely.  Outside of the pine needles from the recent wind the skiing is GREAT!.  We cleaned the needles as much as possible with the machines. No new classic this weekend.  We are trying to preserve the classic that is there mostly still in good shape.  Go out and have some fun……Nick

SNOW CONDITIONS AT VALLECITO!!!

With ALL the shoveling and grooming the GROOMERS have been doing the skiing is even better than last week! Get up there and enjoy while it is SOOOO good!

THANKS!! DEMO DAYS!!

DEMO DAYS was such a success! Great demos, fantastic gumbo, and especially a fun loving and happy group of folks who seemed to enjoy the beautiful day, fantastic snow and chance to try gear! We could not have asked for a better time!

And best of all the snow continues to hold up inspite of someone driving on the road…again. The groomers have worked to “smooth” out the damage and I hear it is again great skiing. Come try it!

Most of all a GIANT THANK YOU to all who made DEMO DAYS a success!

FANTASTIC!!!

Skiing this afternoon was beyond Fantastic! The snow continues to hold up, grooming was excellent and very few folks out. Some might be on their bikes for early Iron Horse Training! So as not to mis-lead anyone, yes there are some thin areas , some trails that are not opened and icy where the sun does its thing! If anyone is telling you it is awful, ignore them and come out for an excellent ski!

DEMO DAYS!!!

SUNDAY JANUARY 8th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the beach at MADDEN CORNER. Come join the fun! There will be many demos to try-snowshoes and skies and boots and poles! Also the gumbo “cookoff”! Also we will have a snowshoe racing clinic given by Steve Ilg at 10:00 a.m. and the traditional KIDS 1K at noon! There will also be the opportunity to try the Burley that has been converted to a ski “shuttle” for your little ones. Come and enjoy and see all your nordic friends.

Don’t forget the wax clinic at Back Country Experience on Saturday(January 7th) from 3-7 where you can learn how to take care of your ski investment. You will have an opportunity to wax your own skies!

CONDITIONS

Can’t believe how the snow is holding up! I skied this afternoon about fourish! Was beautiful! Yes, there are areas that are icy and some rocks especialloy on North Beach. However there are also excellent areas and fast areas! The groomers are busy shoveling and grooming to help keep the area in shape with what we have. Come and enjoy!

GROOMING TUESDAY

Two groomers were out for six hours each today, Tuesday polishing the skate area and shoveling snow on to the thin areas as much as possible. With this warm spell the area seems to be holding up well but of course there are some thin areas, so please be very careful.

Do your snow dance, light cnadles, pray to the snow GODS, anything to bring us more snow! I guess we should feel lucky as some areas of the country are still BROWN!
