WOODEN SKI FESTIVAL/GROOMING!!!

February 20, 2010

Don’t forget the Wooden Ski Festival tomorrow Sunday! Twelve noon! Come dressed in your old fashion ski clothes, wooden skies(if you have them), and come join the fun! Even if you do not have OLD skies come in/with what ever you want! Fun for all! Meet at Madden Corners at twelve noon!

GROOMERS out ALL day today, Saturday and the skiing was fantastic! Folks reported classic was excellent and for fact the skating was also!

The young Elk continues to hang around, with a limp, but definitely mobile! She loves her new “stump” home!

Hope to see you tomorrow!!

Grooming Report Sun Eve Feb 13th

February 14, 2010

We groomed tonight 4-7 pm and it should be fast and smooth for Monday. We reset the classic tracks in the woods and in spots out by Pine Point and the Burnt Meadow. Yes our little Elk is still there, so the South Beach remains closed and all other trails are open. Happy Valentine’s Day — Rob

TRAIL/ELK Update!!

February 13, 2010

Thank you to everyone for respecting the South Beach Trail closure. All the other trails are open, well groomed and very useable….North Beach, Forest Service Road, East Creek and the Camp Ground trails! The groomers have been hard at work with more effort tomorrow Sunday and early Monday morning. ENJOY!

The young elk seems to be doing well and the DOW will be checking on her either late Sunday or Monday. As I ski near South Beach, but not on, the area seems peaceful. However it is difficult to evaluate without going along South Beach. Hopefully the DOW will have more information for us soon.

Remember the Wooden Ski Festival 2-21-10. Bring out your wooden skies, knickers and long skirts for a fun “race” and costume celebration! PRISES, FUN, COSTUMES and MORE!!!

SOUTH BEACH TRAIL CLOSED!

February 10, 2010

Dogs from across the lake have chased a yearling elk to our side. She is “hiding out”, exhausted along our south beach trail. The DOW is attempting to help her regain her strength and are “baiting” her with a trail of hay to attempt to get her to move back where she belongs.
The DOW has asked us to close the South Beach trail until futher notice AND to keep our dogs under control. PLEASE respect this request. The trails have been flagged and marked as closed.
We will keep you informed as to the status of this creature AND when the south beach will re-open.

BY THE WAY, THE GROOMING IS FANTASTIC! Thanks to our Wednesday groomers.

TRAIL REPORT Saturday 1-30-10

January 30, 2010

Skied for about three hours this afternoon on beautifully groomed trails…classic tracks and skate area! The groomers have been working VERY hard Friday night and today Saturday! Please support them with your donations! There is more grooming scheduled for tomorrow Sunday so come out and enjoy. Skiing is fantastic!

Also please do not forget to scoop your dogs poop off the trails and from the parking lot! Even though we have had wonderful snow, and a lot, over the passed week, the “brown klister wax” left by dogs continues to need to be cleaned off the trails and from the parking lot!

Thank you! Diane
